How to get your home daycare on Google Maps

Parents search "daycare near me" every day. A free Google listing puts your daycare on the map. A link to your page tells them the rest.

Step by step

  1. Open Google Business Profile

Go to google.com/business on your phone. Sign in with your Google account.

  2. Add your daycare

Type your daycare name. Choose a child care category, like "Day care center".

  3. Keep your address private

Google asks if customers visit you. You can hide your address and show a service area instead, like your city or ZIP codes.

  4. Verify

Google asks you to prove the business is yours. Follow the steps it shows you.

  5. Add your hours, photos and link

Add your hours and a few photos without children's faces. Paste your page link in the Website box.

Why add a link?

Your Google listing is small. Parents see a name, a phone number and some photos. Your page answers their 4 questions: Do you have a spot? What are your hours? Are you licensed? How can I contact you?

teddypage walks you through it

After you make your free page, we show you each step in your language. When a parent first comes to your page from Google, we text you to say your link works.

Change your hours on teddypage? We remind you to change them on Google too.

Questions

Is a Google Business Profile free?

Yes. Google does not charge for a Business Profile.

Will Google show my home address?

Not if you hide it. Choose a service area, and check your listing after you save.

Is Google alone enough?

It helps a lot. But a listing does not show open spots, ages or your license. A page does.
