Terms of service

Last updated October 14, 2026
Effective date: October 14, 2026

These terms are the rules for using teddypage. By making a page, or by using a page's contact form or the shared teddypage number, you agree to them.

What teddypage is

teddypage makes free one-page websites for licensed home daycares (family child care homes) in California, starting in San Diego County. Each page has its own link, like name.teddypage.com. teddypage is not a child care referral agency. We do not run, inspect or recommend any daycare.

Who can make a page

  • You must be 18 or older.
  • You must hold an active California license for a family child care home from Community Care Licensing (part of the California Department of Social Services), or be invited by the licensee as a helper.
  • There is one page for each license. The licensee controls the page. Helpers can change the page text and photos only.
  • You must give true information, and keep your sign-in phone, email and passkey safe.

Claiming your page and checking your license

We make private draft pages from the state's public list of licensed homes. To claim your page, you show that you are the licensee in one of two ways:

  • we send a code to the phone number on your license record, or
  • you send a photo of your license and a photo of your ID, and a person at teddypage checks them.

Until we confirm your claim, you can work on your page, but you cannot publish it. If we find that a claim is not right, we can undo it and hide the page.

Your page shows the Licensed badge only while the state list shows your license as active. We check the state list every week. If your license is no longer active, we hide your page and remove the badge while a person checks. If your license is active again, tell us and we will check.

Your page and your content

You own what you write and the photos you upload. You give teddypage permission to store, copy, resize, re-encode, translate and show your content on your page, in your share links, QR codes and flyers, and in search results. This permission ends when your content is deleted, except for copies the law requires us to keep.

You are responsible for your page. Keep your hours, ages and open spots true. Open spots expire 30 days after you last confirm them. Then your page says “Ask about openings”.

The English version of your intro

You write your intro in your language. We write the English with an automatic translation tool, and we show you a translation back into your language so you can check the meaning. Nothing goes live until you approve it. Automatic translations can have mistakes. You are responsible for checking the English before you approve it. Hours, ages and other set details use fixed wording that we wrote in each language.

What your page cannot show

  • a street address, a house number, a street sign, or the outside of your home
  • a personal phone number or email (parents contact you through teddypage)
  • a child's name, or a child's face without blur
  • a photo of a child, unless you have written permission from that child's parents
  • a daily schedule that shows where children are at set times
  • false or misleading information, including about your license, your capacity or your services
  • admission rules that treat families unfairly because of race, religion, national origin, disability or other traits the law protects
  • anything illegal, hateful, sexual, violent or threatening, or anything that belongs to someone else without their permission

A person at teddypage checks every photo before it goes live. We can turn down a photo, ask you to change text, or remove content that breaks these rules.

Reports and takedowns

Anyone can report a page at teddypage.com/report. A person at teddypage reads every report. Safety reports reach our team right away. While we check, we can hide the page. We can remove content, hide or close a page, and tell Community Care Licensing or the police when a child may be at risk.

If a photo may show child sexual abuse, we keep it locked, disable the account, hide the page and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, as US law requires.

If you think a page uses your work without permission, email hello@teddypage.com with the page link and what is yours.

If we hide or remove your page or content, we tell you why, unless the law or a child's safety stops us. You can reply and ask us to look again.

The shared teddypage number

Free pages show a shared teddypage phone number and a 4-digit code for your daycare. Parents never see your own number.

  • Calls: when a parent calls and enters your code, we connect the call to your phone. Your phone shows the teddypage number. We do not record calls.
  • Texts: a parent starts a text with your code. We send it to your phone with the parent's phone number. When you reply within 7 days, your reply goes to the parent from the teddypage number.
  • Use parents' information only to answer them about child care. Do not send them ads, and do not share their information.
  • Calls and texts may not always get through. Do not rely on teddypage for emergencies. Message and data rates may apply.
  • Reply STOP to stop reminder texts, and START to get them again. Reply HELP for help.

Messages from teddypage

We send sign-in codes, safety alerts (for example, when a new device signs in), messages from parents, and short notes about your page. If you say yes to reminders, we also text you to check your open spots and to ask every few months if your page is still right. You can stop reminders at any time.

A free service

The Free plan costs nothing and needs no credit card. We may add paid features later. If we do, we will tell you the price first, and you choose whether to pay. We may change, add or stop features.

Moving or leaving

  • You can download your page text and photos at any time.
  • You can close your page at any time. Closing hides it from parents.
  • If you move to your own website, your teddypage link sends visitors there with a permanent redirect for one year. After that, the link stops working.
  • To delete your account and your data, see our privacy policy.

When we can end your account

We can pause or close your account or page if you break these terms, if your license is not active, if we cannot confirm your claim, or to protect children, families or teddypage. We can also stop the whole service. When we can, we will tell you first and give you time to download your content.

We can refuse or change a page link that is misleading, offensive or reserved.

No warranty

teddypage is free and is provided “as is”. We do our best, but we do not promise that it will always work, that it will have no mistakes, or that parents or Google will find your page. The Licensed badge only means that the state list showed the license as active when we last checked. We do not check the quality or safety of any daycare. Parents should check a daycare's license with Community Care Licensing and visit before choosing care.

Limits on our responsibility

As far as the law allows, teddypage is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, lost business or lost data. As far as the law allows, our total responsibility for any claim about teddypage is limited to $100. Some laws do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

If someone makes a claim against teddypage because of your content, or because you broke these terms, you agree to cover teddypage's reasonable costs.

For parents and visitors

Daycares write their own pages. teddypage is not part of any child care agreement between you and a daycare. If something on a page looks wrong or unsafe, report it at teddypage.com/report. If a child is in danger now, call 911.

Changes to these terms

When we change these terms, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change is important, we tell providers by email or text before it takes effect. If you keep using teddypage after a change, you accept the new terms.

California law

California law governs these terms. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts in San Diego County, California, unless the law says otherwise.
